Message from author/singer/songwriter BARRY LOUIS POLISAR about reduced-rate school visits: I am a Maryland author—I live close to Columbia— and have once again been given AIE grant money to help Maryland schools pay for an author visit through the Arts-in-Education program. I have presented author programs in schools throughout Howard County, throughout Maryland, and throughout the US. I have performed at The White House, The Smithsonian and The Kennedy Center and have references on my web site. You may know my books and music already; I sing my song “All I Want is You” in the opening credits of the film Juno and my songs are on TV in commercials for Coca-Cola, Honda, Del Monte and Quaker Oats. You and your students can read my books, watch my videos, and listen to my songs—all for free—as a resource on my web site barrylou I would love to visit your school. My AIE funding can help Title I schools, rural schools, or any school that would like to have me visit. I have additional funding options available as well.
