Message from my friend. Dear All, I would like to inform you about a mobile thief gang operating on JVLR and Andheri Kurla Road. They target busy traffic junctions. They are very active in heavy traffic jams operating in a group of two. This is how they operate: 1. They profile you as driving alone in the jam and spot phone/ valet in your car which is generally placed on dashboard or beside you on the seat. 2. You are stuck in a jam, you slightly move your car and 1st guy will act as if he is hit by the car. 3. He will bang your car windows from co-passenger side, by guilt you may open the window concerned, suddenly 2nd guy will bang your window on drivers side, you will concentrate on him. 4. The 1st guy will pick up your phone and run away, you will not be able to run or follow because you are alone in the car in an jam. Time of Action: During peak hours of morning / evening in a traffic jam Target: Car owners driving alone The same gang was/is operating on Powai road - JVLR also, but they are unable to operate whenever the traffic jam is not there. I was able to avoid the situation last night when the incident occurred with me at WEH near Natraj Signal. I did not open the windows as one my friends from Mumbai Metro who also faced the same ordeal has informed all fellow colleagues by writing a mail. I was saved by his mail. Please spread this to all your friends/ relatives and help them avoid this situation. Drive safe, and have a safe and secure monsoon.
