Message from the Head of the Qadiri Rifai Ansari Sufi Order for the Holy Month of Ramadan. Dear Murids and Muhibs, Assalamo Alaikum. Ramadan 2014 will begin at sunset on Friday, June 27. The first day you will fast is Saturday, June 28. A message from Shaykh Taner for Ramadan 2014: Allah is so merciful. He gives us a lot of opportunities to prove our sincerity to Him. He is also creating excuses to forgive us. Ramadan gives us the opportunity to do both. Please take advantage of this. Everything is with the intention. Please intend to do your best for Allah. May Allah make us all successful in His Path. Shaykh Taner would like us to have a blessed Ramadan by improving our observation of it. Read the Holy Quran in its entirety during Ramadan or make an effort to do it. (The Quran is divided into 30 parts or Juz. (See the attached file of the juz) Repeat salawats or tesbihs to our Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, and to our entire Silsila. The number of repetitions is up to you. For example, you can repeat 100,000 of each alone or in a group; you can do 10,000; you can do 500 a day, equaling 15,000. If you do 300 a day, that makes 9,000. Choose from the following: Allahhuma Salli wa Selim ala Sayyadina Muhammad La ilaha illa ‘llah Ya Allah Ya Hu Ya Wadud Ya Salam Ya Razzaq Ya Latif Ya Rahman Ya Rahim Ya Ghafur Ya Ghaffar Ya Shakur Ya Karim We need to do a lot of zikr for the World for healing and for peace. Do this zikr every day as many times as you can. Ya Shafi, Ya Salam Observe the fast. When sun sets late as in June, July, August, it is permissible by deduction that, if you wish, you can fast only 12 -13 hours. This is your choice. If you choose to do this, you can follow Mecca hours or Istanbul hours. For example, if the fasting in Mecca is 12 hours and you are living in an area where fasting is 18 hours, you can choose to fast 12 hours. For those who cannot fast, you may do the Sufi Cleansing Diet. Even though you do the Sufi Diet, you still must donate USD $3.00 to $5.00 (or the equivalent in foreign currency) a day to feed the poor. Please donate all non-fasting money to QRT. We have people in our tariqa who are in crisis. We must help and feed them first. What is Sufi diet and why we do it? It a requirement for every new Sufi to do at least once in their lifetime. It a cleansing and purifying diet that helps to clean out your body from many impurities including metals. It is cleansing both physically and spiritually. One has to have permission to start to do this diet as it is a spiritual practice. This Ramadan those of you who cannot fast may do the Sufi diet. Now in a nutshell, your 40 days diet will consist of no animal products, but honey, and no grains except rice and no corn or corn products. You may eat yogurt on this diet. If you would like more information on this, go to the FACEBOOK group on the Sufi Diet. You can do it for 40 days or just for Ramadan. Repeat Suratul-Ikhlas between SAHUR (the predawn meal) and Fajr (daybreak prayer). 1. 2 rakat of Fajr (daybreak prayer) 2. 4 rakat of zuhr (noon prayer) 3. 4 rakat of Asr (mid-afternoon prayer) 4. 3 rakat of Maghrib (sunset prayer) 5. 4 rakat of Isha (night prayer) Instructions for Salat. When you do Sejda (prostration) in your Salat, remain in that position for longer, between 5 and 10 minutes a day, especially if you are over 45 years old. Qadiri Rifai Tariqa Ansari Tariqa
