Message from the TASMANIAN COMMUNITY FUND BOARD The Tasmanian - TopicsExpress

Message from the TASMANIAN COMMUNITY FUND BOARD The Tasmanian Community Fund (TCF) Board is delighted that the State Government has announced that the Board will continue to operate. On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank each and every one of our supporters for their strong and vocal support of the activities of the TCF Board in recent months. We have been most humbled by the support shown for the work of the Fund. While the Board is understandably pleased with the decision, we are particularly happy that many wonderful Tasmanian organisations will continue to benefit from our funding grants. The TCF Board is independent of the government of the day, and has sole and absolute discretion within the Act to make grants for worthwhile community purposes. This also allows members of the Board to take a long-term view regarding which projects are to be funded, thus responding to community needs rather than political policy. On the subject of future funding, the latest Tasmanian Community Fund (TCF) grant round – grant round 30 – officially opens on 31 January 2015. Over the previous 29 funding rounds since 2000, the TCF has allocated more than $70 million to more than 2250 projects across the state. Round 30 will include capacity for large grants of between $100,000 and $300,000. Grant applications for these large amounts close on 4 March. Grant applications for amounts up to $10,000 close on 18 March while applications for funding between $10,001 and $90,000 close on 8 April. Information about how to apply and the guidelines under which the TCF Board considers applications are available at tascomfund.org. We look forward to receiving and considering submissions. And finally, with Christmas Day now just a few days away, the TCF would like to wish all of its supporters, and all Tasmanians, a happy Christmas and a safe and enjoyable New Year.
