Message of Fr General: Para. 5: State of Carmel Order. I call it - TopicsExpress

Message of Fr General: Para. 5: State of Carmel Order. I call it a “laborious grace” not so much because of the effort that it presupposes, the travels, the tasks to be accomplished, responsibilities to be assumed, as for the increase of awareness that comes with it. To know more deeply one’s family means to know the wealth and the countless examples of faithfulness, kindness, and dedication that are presentin it. But inevitably, it also means knowing the poverty, the problems and the sins. As the Qohelet says (1:18): “In much wisdom is much grief: and hewho increases knowledge increases sorrow.” But this is the sign that we are not just passing through as tourists or spectators in the midst of our own homes, but we are loving our people, becoming one with them, united in joy and insuffering. The grace of which I speak has this flavor, inseparably sweet and bitter. REPORT ON THE STATE OF THE ORDER Extraordinary Definitory 2014 Fr Saverio Cannistrà, ocd Superior General: How does the report of Fr General challenge you when he says: 1. Labels Laborious Grace the increase in awareness that comes with the effort he has made, including travels , responsibilities assumed: 2. To know more deeply ones family perhaps this challenges us, since the brother at the door may need something of us? 3. means knowing the poverty, the problems and sins This is certainly challenging for some I would think, and how do we do this in a community of Carmel that eliminates much information about the needs of others in Carmel - their sins, or their problems? If you have fragile personalities of those who fear conflict do you believe these souls will be challenged by the very words of Fr General: Have you ever witnessed : A. Friars demonstrating with a lived experience a public or private concern about the problems and sins within in Carmel community? B. Nuns demonstrating with a lived experience a public or private concern about the problems and sins within in Carmel community? C. Do you suppose the Friars and Nuns have any motivation to remain silent or not encourage discussion about Fr Generals report on the state of the Order of Carmel? D. Does your Carmel community imitate Fr General or does your community live far removed from the Gospel being preached by Fr General in his State of the Carmel Order report to you and your fellow Carmelites? [Endorsed] for formational purposes by Fr General, by Carmel of the United States of America, public affairs office on Information, with consent, by Agent 202.
