"Mestizo identity is bull shit. 1) Did you know a study in 2009 was done on 300 "Mestizo" people in Mexico. They tested to be 55% indigenous and some up to 66% (These studies cant possibly be accurate, as it is painfully obvious Mexico is much more indigenous collectively when viewed as a whole, and we are more indigenous when we view ourselves outside of colonial borders, even then there bull shit studies cant help but to prove us more indigenous) 2) Do you know that people all over the world have been raped and mixed, and the majority of them do not call themselves Mestizo or acknowledge the blood of their rapist. (African-Americans as an example of raped people who do not acknowledge the blood of Europeans) 2) Europeans want us to identify as "Mestizo". Yet they want us to say we are Mestizo while calling ourselves "Hispanic" or "Latinos". People of Spain, people of Europe. 3) They want us to check that we are of the "White" race on census forms. 4) They promote the identity of "Mestizo" while making us check Hispanic on census forms. (Hispanics culture and people of Spain) 5) They say we are Mestizo, while only promoting the Spanish language. 6) They say we are Mestizo but we are by majority forced to be Christians and Catholics. This is the shit i have a problem with. You tell people we are " Nican Tlaca indigenous" and they say "No were not were Mestizo". So by saying "No were not we are Mestizo" these people openly admit to being indigenous as well. yet can some one please tell me were in this "Latino" " Hispanic" "Christian" "Catholic" identities and religion is our indigenous side represented?..... Its so obvious , what racist Europeans are trying to do, with this "Mestizo" bull shit identity. They want us to identify as Mestizo for several reasons. Mestizos do not own shit, there not from here, or there. Mestizos do not have a land to call home. Mestizos are something new, they have no history, or accomplishments, or roots. They are basically telling us we are a bunch of mutts, were not good enough to be white, and were not good enough to be indigenous. White people can make all the identities and labels they want. They wont mean shit, if we do not empower them. If we reject them, if we do not check them on forms, or use them among ourselves. We need to quit identifying as Mestizo, we need to quit telling people we are Mestizo, We need to stop checking the "White race" box, and stop checking the "Hispanic" box. We need to correct people when they call us Hispanics, Latinos, Mestizos. We need to greet each other as Mexica, as Nican Tlaca.
