Met with Mrs. Sally Parker this afternoon in my office to discuss the Neely Beaty memorial service on Saturday. During one portion of the service, perhaps the final portion, wed like former students to come forward and say something about how Ms. B affected their lives. We cannot accommodate too many people, because for one thing it will be very cold that morning and wed like to expedite the service in a respectful way. (And well be moving to the Union County Historical Museum after the service, so talk can continue there, along with a poem about Ms. B. from Monte Lancaster.) I suggested five or six students might be a good number, and Sally agreed. If youre interested in speaking let me know. The service will be at 11AM at Mt. Vernon Church.
