MetroNews Morning News Headlines: The state is about split on who is going to school and who is getting another snow day today. Between snow, freezing temps, and water contamination its been a slow start to the new year for many schools across WV. Forecasters say we remain in a deep freeze across WV, although the temperatures are warmer today starting out in the teens. Plenty of questions remain about the West Virginia American water emergency. Freedom Industries in a demanded report to the DEP says there were only two chemicals that leaked, but Kanawha-Putnam County health officials are questioning why that information had to be ordered and what the long term health effects may be. The state Senate advanced legislation on Wednesday aimed at shoring up the beleaguered WV State Park system. The bill moves money from Lottery funding toward parks. Legislation also uses a measure of lottery funds to shore up Medicaid shortfalls.
