Mian Altaf tours Kangan ‘Rs 19 cr being spent on upgradation of Kachnambal-Wangth road’ GK NEWS NETWORK Kangan, Sep 11: Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmad, accompanied by senior officers, today, conducted an extensive tour of Kangan constituency and took stock of the development works and the problems of the people. He visited Aarez, Bobsipora, Wayil, Gujjarpati Yarmuqam, Bonizal, Chattergul Bala, Margund, Pathpora and Preng, an official spokesman said. Minister while talking to the people said that Rs 19 crore is being spent on up-gradation of Kachnambal-Wangth road which will provide better road connectivity to thousands of the people. Regarding power scenario of the constituency, Mian Altaf said that Rs. 65 lakh have been earmarked for repair and replacement of old power lines out of which Rs. 25 stands released to the electric department. He said Rs. 3.50 crore is being spent on construction of Ramwadi Bridge in the constituency. The Minister directed officers of Irrigation and Flood Control Department to construct flood protection bunds on both the sides of nallah Sindh to save the area from devastation by floods. He instructed them to divert the water at Waylu Bridge besides extending the flood protection bund to other villages as well. While talking to the people at Preng, the Minister asked the concerned officers of Irrigation and Flood Control Department to construct protection bund in the areas to ensure water does not enter into the school and village Preng. To improve water supply position in the constituency, the Minister directed concerned officers of PHE department to repair old pipes at Bobsipora and other areas till the new schemes approved for the area get completed. Referring to the demand of giving backward status to Gujjarpati Yarmuqam, the Minister assured people that matter would be taken up with the Concerned Ministry.
