Michael Haynes WLBT: Another hot day ahead with no significant relief in sight; in fact, temperatures likely crank up a notch by midweek... A weak disturbance approaching from the northwest will set off a few widely spaced showers this morning and a scattering of storms during the afternoon. You know the routine by now; some spots will receive a brief shower or storm while others remain completely dry. But no doubt, all of us catch the heat and humidity; warming to the middle 90s with heat index values between 100 and 104. Rain opportunities remain limited for the rest of the week as even hotter air edges in from the west. Temperatures reach the 95 to 98 degree range Wednesday and Thursday with afternoon heat indices between 105 and 110! Have a great Monday, and stay cool (or at least try)!
