Michael Mike Curb (born December 24, 1944, Savannah, Georgia, United States) is an American musician, record company executive. As a freshman at San Fernando Valley State College (now California State University at Northridge), while working in the practice rooms of the Department of Music, Curb wrote the song You Meet the Nicest People on a Honda (Go Little Honda) which the company selected for its ad campaign. Dropping out of college in 1963 at the age of 19, Curb formed first record company, Sidewalk Records (a predecessor of Curb Records) and helped launch the careers of West Coast rock and roll artists such as the Stone Poneys (featuring Linda Ronstadt), The Arrows (featuring Davie Allan) and the Electric Flag (featuring Mike Bloomfield and Buddy Miles). Curb organized his own musical group, The Mike Curb Congregation in the 1960s, an otherwise anonymous studio aggregation in the mold of large-scale vocal groups like the Doodletown Pipers. Favoring saccharine material and childlike harmonies in direct opposition to rocks prevailing psychedelic mindset, the group nevertheless scored a Top 40 hit with 1970s Burning Bridges, the theme to the Clint Eastwood film Kellys Heroes. A handful of minor chart hits followed, among them 1971s Sweet Gingerbread Man and the next years See You in September. In addition, their recording of Its a Small World went on to become the official theme song of the Disneyland attraction of the same name. But the Mike Curb Congregation was better known for its collaborations. They backed Sammy Davis, Jr. on his chart-topping Candy Man, and were regulars on televisions Glen Campbell Good Time Hour.https://youtube/watch?v=5o0Q9rkEvkU
