Prosecution of crimes with victims is a legitimate duty of government. That is one of the legitimate purposes of county property taxes - to pay for criminal investigations. Certainly, I do not want anyone to be prosecuted for an imaginary crime, but, in this case, there is photographic evidence of a crime and it deserves an investigation and deserves coverage in the newspaper - whether prosecuted or not.
