Michael Vincent Joseph Hannigan, 77, of Rancocas Woods, N.J. passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 the same way he lived, surrounded by his family. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, on Sept. 25, 1937, the youngest of 12 siblings. Mike followed in the family tradition of duty by serving in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He married the love of his life, Joan Ann Krippel, on May 7, 1960. For 54 years they built a life and family together. Mike put family first in all things and was proudest when talking about the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He passed on his family devotion to his sons, Michael Jr. and Kenneth. It was his greatest gift to them. He was a truck driver by trade and retired from New Penn on Jan. 8, 2000. In retirement, he enjoyed simple things such as taking care of the home he lived in for 45 years, reading the newspaper while drinking his morning coffee, and traveling with wife. In addition to his wife and sons, he is survived by two daughters-in-law, Kim and Jennifer, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind an extensive and loving family of in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. We will miss you Mike, Dad, Poppop. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 9:30-11:00 AM immediately followed by a memorial service at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ. Final disposition will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local hospice organization.
