Michelle does the candidate research so the rest of us can just show up to grill him...I mean groom him and get him though the candidate selection process to get him on the ballot. Only registered party members can participate in the candidate selection process. The rest get what candidates are chosen for them by those who show up. The ONLY reason for the average voter to register with any party is to use that partys tools for putting their preferred candidates on to ballots. By the time election day comes, party affiliation is irrelevant...you can vote for anyone you want without regard to your party affiliation on election day. The only time party membership matters is during the candidate selection process and the voting on the internal policies and direction of the party.
