Michelle, from Primal Journey, is doing a video series and sharing what she eats and ate during her weight loss journey. There are a lot of good points in this video, such as (1) why grass-fed meats are so important (over regular meats), how its in the fat of meat where a lot of the toxins are stored, so eating grass-fed is healthier for us; if youre eating regular meat, buy the leaner type; if youre buying grass-fed, get the full fat type because youll be getting more nutrients (2) eating those veggies and if youre trying to loose weight, understanding which will help you and which wont so much; (3) dairy: Michelle is primal , and although its all about semantics since some Paleo people, including myself do some dairy, its all a personal choice as well and how it affects your own body… if youre lactose intolerant, as I am, try keeping a journal as Michelle did.. this could help to see what truly affects your body, instead of just going with the flow of a semantic definition, AND again, grass-fed and if possible raw; (4) do things that keep you sane, even if others dont agree, such as what Michelle explains she did and does with dark chocolate; and (5) change habits with the seasons to accommodate for different foods and different exposure to the outdoors if you live in seasonal climates. For example, she eats more fruit during the summer months, since they are more readily available and she also does more exercise to compensate for eating more sugars. Personally, I do stay away from refined sugar and only use honey, maple syrup and coconut sugar as my sweeteners, along with fruits. I truly believe that sugars feed diseases and therefore stay away from them and watch my general sugar intake.
