Michigan Restaurant Association Endorses Martin Howrylak for State Representative For Immediate Release October 9, 2014 Contact: info@howrylak Troy, MI -- The Martin Howrylak for State Representative campaign is pleased to announce the endorsement of the Michigan Restaurant Association (MRA). “After rigorous review, candidates were endorsed based upon a demonstrated commitment to protecting the free market and preventing harmful regulations. In addition, state legislative candidates were required to have exhibited support for a responsible approach to the minimum wage,” said Brian DeBano, MRA president and CEO. The MRA, founded in 1921, represents 4,500 food service establishments employing nearly 400,000 people. The industry plays an integral role in the Michigan economy, representing nearly $13.4 billion in annual sales. I am grateful to the Michigan Restaurant Association for their support,” said Howrylak. “Michigan’s food service industry is on the upswing once again as the Michigan economy recovers. I look forward to working with the MRA to make sure that Michigan’s tax and regulatory environment is favorable to investment and job creation. The General Election is on November 4th. Martin Howrylak and his wife Jane live in Troy, where Martin was born and raised. He currently represents the 41st district in the State Legislature and also served as a city councilman in Troy from 2000-2011. He is a certified public accountant (CPA). He has been endorsed by several business groups, including the Michigan Manufacturers Association, Michigan Physical Therapy Association, Michigan Doctors Political Action Committee, National Federation of Independent Business, the Associated Builders and Contractors of Michigan, Michigan Retailers Association, Greater Metropolitan Association of Realtors as well as many others.
