Mick Murtagh PRO of the OBriensbridge Community Group in an article in this weeks Clare Champion has called on Clare Co Council to restore our Heritage Bridge to the highest Safety and Heritage Standards and the re opening the Amenity Walkway with a time frame in operation for the commencement of such works, the removal of the Crash Barrier from its present position on the roadside edge which has been a major contributor to recent bridge damage and mounted to the rear of new reinforced mounting plinth and the provision of a safety ramp and canopy for walkers underneath the bridge. These proposals are in keeping with our long term campaign for the protection of our very special Heritage Bridge
