Midday update: Three days with no sleep. I have a new doctor. He doesnt seem to understand the concept of fifty ticks at once or a chronic severe migraine lasting four weeks. Hes changing all of my medications but has yet to discuss why with me. My nurse today, lady disappears a lot, has a baby tags along nurse who giggles at everything and raises her voice every time she speaks to me. After quite literally two hours, TWO HOURS, of calling the nurses station and calling the nurses phone directly to request assistance, I finally and literally showed my behind. I regret to inform you that I went to the nurses station with my pole in tow and gown on and requested the attention of both my nurse and my doctor, who was texting, and asked just exactly what my treatment options are. My doctor asked exactly what was going on. I explained he was looking upon the face of a woman on the verge, and reminded him YET AGAIN that I have been awake for three days, in constant pain for more than a month now, and have had a chronic severe migraine to go along with that body pain. This does not include the mental confusion, short term memory loss, emotional exhaustion and everything else thats going along with this grand adventure. He asked me to kindly give him five minutes and he would come speak to me. That, of course, was thirty minutes ago. If I could afford to be transferred back to Upson, I would. Unfortunately, the only way to be transferred is via ambulance. All the while, my parents are diligently and tirelessly sorting through the insurance red tape quick sand. The latest is that the insurance company has told the home infusion company that they wont authorize in home antibiotic therapy until August first. I cant go home until I can have in home antibiotic therapy. Keep up your prayers please. Ive demonstrated a spectacular lack of Grace today in the face of immense pain, and not much humor or courage today either.
