Middle School Daily Announcements January 24, 2014 There will be a Stuco meeting during Tiger Time on Tuesday, Jan. 28th in Mrs. Hedrick’s room. Yearbooks can be purchased before school on Fridays in the middle school commons or anytime in the middle school office at a cost of $25.00. The PTA is challenging the middle school to see which class can collect the most labels and box tops. The goal is for each class to bring in 700 labels between now and the end of the school year. That’s only 100 labels per month! If you reach your goal, your class will get chips and pop from PTA. Collection boxes are located in the middle school office. Salvaging Sisterhood Night Out will be January 31st from 5-9pm. This is a change from the original date that was given. Girls that are participating need to turn in permission slips and $4.00 to Mrs. Hedrick by January 24th. The 8th grade class will be participating in the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). On January 30th they will take the Technology and Engineering Literacy Assessment. The school spelling bee will be held for 6th & 7th grade on Jan. 28th and for 8th grade on Jan. 29th. Please see Mrs. Clements in the library to get a copy of the words to study. There will be a mandatory meeting for both the MS and HS Science Olympiad teams in the middle school library next Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 7:00pm. Lots of information will be discussed about our upcoming regional competition on Mar. 1. Please make every effort to attend. We need to get permission slips signed, t-shirts ordered, etc. See you Tuesday!! *Parents: As winter approaches, if you have not signed up for text caster, our school notification system, you can do so from our school website at ccr3.k12.mo.us. Once on the website just click on the Communications tab on the top of the page, then click on Textcaster and follow the prompts. If your student is in sports, you will need to also check the MS Athletics/Activities box so you will receive important information regarding game changes, cancellations, and etc. If you prefer not to receive a text message in the event of school closings, information will still be provided to the local news channels.
