Middle School Football Update! Dear Middle School Football Families, As you are aware, the District has been working with a few community members on proposals aimed at maintaining the middle school football program at all four schools. A fundraising goal of $24,000 has been set to cover the costs, with a deadline of August 1st. Although there is a belief that eventually the funds can be raised, the authors of the proposal are concerned that they will not be able to meet the August 1st deadline. Therefore all the middle school coaches met and agreed to forego their coaching salaries for the 2014 season, unless the money can be raised by November, at the end of the season. If all $24,000 can be raised by November, the coaches will receive payment for their services. If not, they will not receive a stipend this year, as their salaries will cover the expenses to run middle school football. This is very generous of them and the District has worked with the WLEA to create a memo that agrees to this arrangement for one year only. So …. Middle School Football will be offered at all four schools in the fall of 2014. In order to donate to the fund, you may submit individual contributions in the form of checks made out to Walled Lake Schools Middle School Football or donate online at wlcsd.org.
