Migrant Farmworker Protections The Wage and Hour Division is reaching out to the Mexican Consulate in Sacramento, Calif., to expand awareness of resources regarding farm workers labor and safety protections under the law. To that end, the divisions district office in Sacramento conducted a training session on labor requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act on May 9. The outreach event included an explanation of the step-by-step process necessary for the intake of labor complaints to more than 125 Mexican nationals. The training was hosted by the Mexican Consulate in Sacramento and is part of the divisions outreach programs and partnership arrangements to assist and protect vulnerable workers. dol.gov/whd/regs/compliance/whdfs49.pdf
