Mija had a good day today. She really didnt want to wake up this morning. How nice it would have been if she could have stayed in bed with it raining outside. She said she was hurting today so the nurse gave her a pain pill. OT/PT co-treated today. They sat her on the therapy bed. She needed to be stretched forward to help break the tone. She was very tight today. The therapists felt it was because of the wet weather. They worked with the magnet board again. Mija was able to pick out the correct letters for her name. She did need some assist lifting her arm to the board. They also worked on picking up plastic bolts and dropping them in a bowl. Mija had good communication between she and the therapists but, physically, she wasnt up to par. In speech, she had one bite of pureed pork cheesy bake, one bite of apple bake and several sips of water. She had a lot of drainage and said her throat hurt. She did communicate well with the speech therapist, though, with head nods. After lying down for about an hour, Mija and mom headed to the TBI session. Dr. Leif talked about two of the residents injuries and how the injuries effected them. Mija was one of the individuals they discussed.. Mija was was not feeling on top of the world today. She was still running a low grade temperature. After a nap, she and mom went to Bingo. Aunt Denise came just as they started to play. Mom stayed for one game and then left. Aunt Denise stayed for more Bingo. She stayed until Mija went to bed. Thanks for all of the continued prayers and good vibes/karma and please keep them coming!
