Mike I have to share this with you. Brilliant comment on a Guardian article. BBC World Service complains that Russia Today is ramping up propaganda and out gunning them with resources. I’ve seen Russia Today and all it reinforces to me is how much a propaganda tool all our press is including the BBC World Service. Would they ever do a spotlight on how undemocratic the unelected House of Lords is or that the Queen is another unelected head of state. At least the Russians can vote for Putin. A government that has been caught lying so many times and bombing residential areas. This is a government that came to power after violently driving out an elected president and cut off water to Crimea, it now pays no pensions of healthcare for the east, and yet the BBC makes no comment about how different the Kiev government is about an area seeking secession against how London behaved regarding Scotland. The shooting of MH17 benefitted the Kiev government massively, and they had the means, yet everything they said was believed despite mounting evidence they were the perpetrators. When it comes to reporting financial news, the BBC is totally pathetic. The alternative economists who forecast the 2008 crash get no coverage and there is absolutely no questioning of the paradigm of neoliberal free-market thinking maybe not being the best way to organise ourselves. When somebody asked interesting questions about QE, and exactly who invents money, they are totally shut down. Many, many times I have had to turn off the Today programme in total disgust as their economic thinking is set in rigid tramlines with no real questioning. RT, however, gives many different viewpoints (unlike the BBC) and gives a voice to alternative economists who seem to be mostly shut out from the BBC, only very rarely appearing in discussion programmes and many people appear who seem to be very anti-Russian. I have yet to turn RT off in disgust. The BBC news has gone very downhill (particularly the Today show) and RT is far superior. More money will make no difference whilst their minds are closed to alternative economics. They seem totally unaware, yet again, of how close the dollar is to losing its reserve status and the implications for the western world, particularly the UK.
