Mike Turner made a very good point regarding my last post, so I - TopicsExpress

Mike Turner made a very good point regarding my last post, so I want to address it with everybody who is following me. Mike agreed with the point I was making, but suggested that the manner in which I phrase my truths has just alienated the only people with the power to make the changes I suggest. The following is how I replied to him. I was alienated a long time ago, but not before learning that the people we expect to effect the changes I suggest do not have the power to do so. For that reason I have steadfastly refused numerous invitations to become involved in the circus that politics is. You dont have to know your history any further back than this government to know that the elected officials have no interest in making the institutions of government more effective, theirs is only to stay in power. Fixing our democracy would require redressing the oligarchy of the senior bureaucrats, but that would jeopardize the significant advantage that any incumbent has over their opposition. No politician would do so without significant external pressure. My aim is simply to make everybody of all political persuasions angry enough with the status quo to make the establishment of a responsible, accountable democracy in Canada a national priority. If I can also convince mainstream Canadians that a transparent, effective and accountable bureaucracy is the first essential step in a campaign to rescue our broken democracy, then I believe the government of the day will be compelled to act in the best interests of the People of Canada rather than their own. In the end, this is only about democracy, not politics. So I am asking everyone, regardless of whether you are biased towards the Conservatives, NDP, Liberals, Greens or any other political party, to join together to clean up our democracy. Party politics are here to stay, and the government of the day will be disadvantaged until the politicians and their fanatical sycophants figure out ways around it, but making the government bureaucracy fully transparent, effective and accountable will level the playing field such that conciliation and consensus will replace the corruption and conceit that consumes our parliamentarians once they win the Hammer. I ask you to join me in my quest to force our government bureaucracy to be fully transparent and effective and hold them accountable for any gross incompetence or malfeasance. I ask you to help me recruit everyone to this cause, because it will be to everyones benefit! Thank you! P@
