Mike and I wanted to give everyone a bit of a detailed update. He has been inpatient at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore since last Sunday. He was admitted in severe pain and with his liver beginning to shut down (again). The doctors and staff there are wonderful. They quickly adjusted a ton of meds and have since reduced his pain medication to less than 4% of what he was taking when he got there! They also sent him for a biopsy and a stent to help his liver function. His liver is slowly betting a little better but will not fully function on its own. Only chemo can help at this point. He has officially been diagnosed with a poorly-differentiated neuroendrocrine tumor (NET) which most likely started in his pancreas. He will remain in the hospital until after the chemo (a 3-day process) has been completed. Since he is already not feeling well, the feel they must watch him more closely. They believe that since he has a very aggressive cancer, he may respond very well to chemo. Hopefully I will get to bring him home on Thursday. Please continue to pray for him and for healing. While the doctors say this is not curable, we know that God is the Mighty Healer and can work miracles! ~Heather and Michael ~
