Mike, today with the immigration executive action, I want to thank you for your votes and policies which have kept Austin a sanctuary city, so important for protection of our working community which creates wealth for all of us business people; so sorry that a few Hispanic Chamber members are not honoring your votes and support for workers and businesses alike, and for your constant vigilance as in the conservation districts $$$$ to ensure that income flows to all Austinites, rich and poor alike. Above all, thank you for helping us build the ESBMACC, and expansions to the Carver Museum, a new Mexic Arte and for the Asian Resource Center, and the expansion of the Zachary Scott Theater, and so many other cultural institutions. I guess many wealthy people are deliriously happy that should they prevail they will have access to coveted land in the Rainey District which you have protected for the public good. Many may not know, or may not wish to acknowledge your contributions, but the rest of us, of all races and ethnicities in Austin who advocate and work daily in the continuing struggle for social justice and equity, will vote for you, because you have have done double duty these many years, voting for the vulnerable and at the same time protecting the welfare of all Austinities. ¡Te avientas, hermano!, no te aguites con los malagradecidos, we will make sure that their children and ours honor your legacy as an intelligent, sensitive and hardworking public servant.
