Mikes Beautiful Life Home » Society - Documentary This is a polemic docudrama in which the author, Mike Anderson, explores many global issues via his personal biography. It is also a film about the corporate business power in the USA and the world as being directly responsible for the crises in many areas of life: politics, society, health care, environment, food, energy and so on. Anderson lived a great working class American lifestyle, but all that came with a price. This hidden cost he noticed only later, near the end of his life. This film investigates the costs and the final price to be paid by generations of humans to come. Weve already used up half the worlds oil supply, the easy half. It took 125 years to use the first trillion barrels of oil and well use the next trillion in 30. The first trillion barrels of oil were cheap; the second trillion will be expensive. World consumption will double in the next 20 years while production declines and the price of oil will skyrocket. Some say running out of oil will be a good thing since well stop polluting the Earth, our health will improve and it will help diminish climate change. But world with oil shortage will be catastrophic if were not prepared for it and all indications are we wont be. We also wont be prepared for other catastrophic developments that are related to our use of oil. The seeds of those events were planted during our lifetime and theyll bear fruit during the lifetime of our children. Oil provided an energy boost to our civilization that has been unmatched in human history and allowed us to create the society we know today. Oil is the most taken for granted resource weve ever had. A single barrel contains the energy equivalent of 25,000 hours of human labor. But this cheap and powerful source of energy also carries with it the seeds of our own destruction. The story of oil began hundreds of millions of years ago. The end of that story will begin when todays young children are in the middle of their lives. What kind of world these children will grow into and how different it will be from ours? topdocumentaryfilms/mikes-beautiful-life/
