Miles Goes Back to High Court to Stop Edgar Lungu Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa has filed for a stay of execution of the Consent Judgment in the Lusaka High Court. Judge Mungeni Mulenga has not granted the Stay. Edgar Lungu’s lawyer have filed an affidavit in Opposition of Sampa’s application contending that; 1. Sampa cannot set aside a Consent Order (Which declared Edgar Hon. Edgar Chagwa Lungu PFPresident) that he is not part to. 2.Sampa should comply with the Supreme Court Judgment that directed him to file a joinder to earn him any rights to contest the Consent Judgement. 3. There are Contempt Charges awaiting Sampa and his colleagues. In law, contempt is a criminal offence and therefore takes precedence before any civil matter (such as this Stay) is heard. But the PF Secretary General Davies Chama says Miles Sampa’s application to stay the Consent Judgment must be dismissed. Chama stated that Sampa was not yet a party to the Consent Judgment and can not therefore ask for it to be set said or stayed. He also contended that there are contempt charges before the same court and must be resolved before any other matter can be heard. Chama stated the stay of execution of a Consent Judgment was not tenable at law. zambiareports/2014/12/16/miles-goes-back-high-court-stop-edgar-lungu/
