Milestone for Hong Kong and Shanghai stock exchanges A landmark #stock trading link program allowing #HongKong and #Shanghai investors to buy and sell shares on each others bourse was officially launched on Monday, marking the start of one of Chinas most significant moves to further open its #capital markets. The link-up, called the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect, will give international investors more access to companies in the worlds second largest economy, and will see billions of dollars in daily cross-border transactions. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority has called the link up a milestone, in improving the market efficiency and the robustness of China’s financial system.
