Milka Duno 16th at the Magic Mile in DuQuoin, Illinois LOS ANGELES, Calif. (September 5, 2013) – In her second career dirt track start in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Milka Duno hoped to improve on her first dirt track result – and that she did – by finishing 16th in the Southern Illinois 100 presented by Federated Car Care at the Magic Mile in DuQuoin, Ill. Duno finished 21st in her first career dirt track race at the Illinois State Fairgrounds on August 28th. In the qualifying session Duno would put her No. 35 Cantv/Milka Way Chevrolet 15th on the starting grid for the afternoon race as part of the final day of events at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds. In a race that would see eight caution periods Venturini Motorsports would bring Duno into the pits during the second yellow for four tires and a full tank of fuel and during the fifth yellow for tires only. In 18th during the closing laps of the race Duno would capture 16th during the green-white-checkered finish. “We wanted to better our result from my first career dirt track race in August,” said Duno. “That’s what we wanted to do and that is exactly what we did. I drove really hard and we finished five spots ahead of where we finished at Illinois. For my second career dirt track start I’m happy to have improved and progressed on a dirt track.” "It was a good clean race for Milka and she did a great job,” said Kevin Caldwell, Crew Chief, No. 35 Venturini Motorsports Cantv/Milka Way Chevrolet. “She took what she learned in her first dirt race and applied it to her second and delivered a higher finish.” Duno remains 6th in the ARCA Racing Series Driver Point Standings heading into her next race at Iowa Speedway on September 2nd.
