Millennial Study- October 29th- Law vs Grace- We are back into Galatians today, seeing that we have explained the differences between a Theocracy and an Ecclesiocracy. We are in verse seven of Galatians chapter three, Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. (8) And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. (9) So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. These verses get right down to the heart of the matter we are preaching about. Verse seven and verse nine tell us the same thing, with verse eight in the middle to explain why the other two verses say the same thing. Verses seven and nine tell us that we the saved are the children of Abraham. You dont have to be Jewish to be a child of Abraham, but you do have to be saved by faith, in order to be a child of Abraham. We refer back to Ephesians 2:8, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (9) Not of works, lest any man should boast. You have to have the grace of God, which means an undeserved favor of God, through faith, which is your truth, your assurance and your conviction of something, in this case your salvation, so that you can be saved. Gods favor and your faith is what saves your soul. Verse eight tells us that God had already forseen that he would justify the heathen, which by the way is you and me, and that by doing so he would be able to offer his grace by our faith to all the nations of the world, so that whosoever believed on the name of His Son Jesus Christ, would be saved. Look at the words in verse eight closely: you will find that in the latter seven words of the sentence, it is God Himself that is preaching, these seven words. It relates us back to John 3: 16 and the words that are shown there, if you have the correct version of the bible, King James Authorized version: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. A lot of folks interpret this verse incorrectly, by saying it means that everybody will not perish, but will obtain eternal life. Thats not what the verse says. It says should not perish, not shall not perish. Theres a big difference in those two words of should not and shall not. The verse nine ends by saying that they which are of faith, thats we the born again believers, are blessed the same as faithful Abraham. It was imputed to Abraham for righteousness. We are out of space today but will pick up here tomorrow, Lord willing, and finish up the faithfulness of Abraham, which was grace not law, and how that promise affected we the saved of modern days. Until then, may God bless your lives. Pastor Joe Raulerson
