Millers Landing just posted: Last night will go down in history as one of the most special events for Millers and our community. The overwhelming generosity wrapped up with endless amounts of love & support was enough to bring many of us to tears several times. The last few days were filled with gift cards pouring in from neighbors as near as Bass Lake Heights and as far as Kentucky, Oregon & Louisiana! A few highlights from our evening included our community leaders there to set up & serve and guests arriving early to jump right in and help. Then there was the line that stretched the length of the building and around the corner, filled with people waiting patiently while sharing stories of fire fears, loss and gratitude mixed with abundant smiles and many tears. We had prideful families that lost everything but yet wanted to be sure that those that need help most are taken care of first. The feeling in the air was indescribable and a true testament to the strength of our community and the impact of human kindness. With gift cards still coming in, our current total is upwards of $35, 000! Words cannot express how full our hearts are this morning and I know I can speak for the Courtney Fire families as well. We are Grateful... Photos courtesy of their FB page posting
