Millet Week: Recipe for Millet Patties, from Janellas Wholefood Kitchen. Serves 2-4 ½ brown onion, diced 1 clove garlic, chopped 2 tsp turmeric 2 tsp garam masala 1 cup millet, cooked (steam or absorb as you would rice, or use the rice cooker) 1 carrot, grated 1 zucchini, grated and squeezed dry Tamari or good salt to taste, about 1 tsp ½ -1 tbsp coconut oil Method - In a skillet sauté the onion in the coconut oil then add the garlic and spices. Cook gently until the spices start to stick, then add the millet and grated veggies to the pan, and tamari to taste. Using your hands, roll millet mixture into balls. Squeeze tightly. In a large pan, melt ½ tbsp of coconut oil, and fry the balls until they are golden brown on each side. (Or bake.) Drain on absorbent paper.
