Mindanao Peoples’ Caucus a Tri-People organization here in Mindanao and also a member of the Civilian Protection Component of the International Monitoring team, vehemently condemn in the strongest term the bombing ofthe United Church of Christ in the Philippine (UCCP) Church in Pikit, North Cotabato last night of October 8, 2014. According to reports gathered so far, a two men riding in tandem on a motorcycle fired an M203 grenade inside the UCCP Pikit in Pikit, Cotabato while the midweek service was going on. Two died in the bombing (Felomena Nacario-Ferolin and Gina Cabiluna), another three where wonded including one Virginia Manolid who is in critical condition and also wounded are Jeremias and Jerome Dandan. We viewed it as barbaric with satanic instinct, and it is also a clear violation of Republic Act 9851 known as the International Humanitarian Law. We the Mindanao Peoples’ Caucus is calling on all concern authorities to do whatever possible efforts leading to the arrest and to the prosecution of the perpetrators, and make them liable and accountable for this barbaric action. Likewise, we also expressed our heartfelt condolences to the families and relatives of the victims. We are praying for the speedy recovery of the wounded.
