Minerva Fire Department & Rescue Squad has put into service its Wildness Ambulance and it is ready to roll at a moments notice. Thanks to everyone who has donated time, money and equipment. This will not only help in providing a service it also helps keep the interests of the members up to continue there specialty training in providing a service to our residents who like to explore the back country here in the Adirondacks. A special thanks goes out to Patty W. for all the extra time spent and to her continuing commitment in putting together a Wilderness Rescue Team for our town, residents and surrounding area. The department is planing to hold a training drill on February 8 starting around 1:00 down at the Minerva beach. Stop by to see the snow ambulance in action. We will be conducting some Ice rescue operations and training and some just out right playing with the new snow ambulance out on the lake. We will be have hotdogs and hamburgers, coffee and hot chocolate during the day down by the lake.
