Mini Living Tribute to my Mom. If you ever met Remitha Turner I believe that you would either love her, respect her or both. She is well into her 80s now and was counted out several times in her life. Lord did she love the church and supported it with service. When the church struggled financially, she and her life long buddies would cut up whole fryer chickens and sold dinners at church on Fridays and even delivered them. Baked cookies and stood in the lobbies at banks to give money to the church. My Daddy was a rough dude and strict pastor and should stood right by him. Even though she didnt attend college she made sure that others did and to this day still has a sharp mind & does crossword puzzles almost everyday. She taught Sunday School for decades, cooked everyday for 7 children and the neighborhood :-) and can still throw down in the kitchen. I know Black history because of her. I admit I dont know why she has had to suffer with strokes, so much death in the family and even her own severe health issues…its been hard not to think that she hasnt gotten a raw deal (being honest). But shes never cursed God or her situation and if she can still worship while in her frail body then Ive learned that I should too. She taught be early in life to accept what God allows. Ive had a great example in her. Hope you get to meet her one day.
