Mini Stella Race at Rio Linda Academy On September 18, the students of the Solar Team Eindhoven together with Peter van Deventer, diplomatic Liaison and director of Coast to Coast e-Mobility, and our colleague Maurice Geraets, visited the Rio Linda Preparatory Academy, a Middle School for 10-14 year old children near Sacramento. Our goal was to help create awareness for cleaner and smarter transportation solutions. After a really warm welcome by the children and teachers, fifteen winners from the essay contest “what will Stella look like in 2020?” got the opportunity for a ride in Stella with a police escort, followed by presentations in the library. Team Captain Lex Hoefsloot explained why and how they built Stella. Peter van Deventer told the children that he wished to inspire the children to help find their solutions for many of today’s global challenges like climate change. After this session the students got back to their classrooms to build mini-Stella cars. The program was rounded off with a group photo in front of the school.
