Minimum Wage Protests = Torches & Pitchforks vs. Militarized Police... Thousands of Fast Food and other Minimum Wage workers around the nation are out - in force - today, demonstrating for and demanding a livable Minimum Wage, risking firings by employers and arrests by police! ...Mostly by WELL-PAID, UNIONIZED POLICE, armed with state-of-the-art military hardware; all designed to keep order (i.e., keep the masses under control, for the corporate masters - reaping record profits, many while even evading paying taxes!). The Rethuglicans in Congress have REFUSED to raise the Minimum Wage - despite overwhelming public support (in poll after poll). As they return to session next week...after their five-week recess,...THIS ISSUE will not go away anytime soon! Indeed, the GOPs stubborn intransigence to raise the Minimum Wage - unchanged at $7.25 over the past five-years - may turn out to be one of the most compelling factors in the 2014 Midterm Elections,...IF Democrats, Progressives and Liberals can actually get people out to the polls and overcome the usual Midterm malaise, which historically favors the party that doesnt occupy the White House! My prediction: If this issue is NOT RESOLVED SOON, with a meaningful raise to the Federal Minimum Wage; things will get violent and uglier on the streets of America and - will pit hard-working Americans, making poverty-level wages against our newly modernized/militarized police! Historically, when the police (or military) are co-opted by the Plutocrats - eventually - after arresting, beating and killing their OWN people, they turn on the wealthy and side with the people!
