Minister for Public Enterprises and State Investment Hon. Ben Micah decision to sack the Entire Board of PPL is the Best Decision after the embarrassment caused by the Board when they sacked the CEO John Tangit who was on duty travel with Minister to Indonesia to sign power agreement. Minister Micah press release where he stated that the action of PPL Board was contrary and not consistent with NEC decision amounts to insurbonation and the entire Board including the Chairman need to be sacked. The Minister and the NEC are mandated by the people of PNG by virtue of their positions and what they say verbally or in writing is LAW. Who is the Board to disobey and function contrary to NEC and Minister directive? The Board must always work in consultation with the Minister who then advice the NEC and Parliament. In this case the BOARD MUST BE SACKED. However we argue insurbonation is a very serious offense and must not be tolerated in such critical circumstances. We can not politicalised the issue because it is evident that the Board defied lawful NEC directions and deliberately with intent disregard the Ministers opinion on this issue. Therefore the Ministers decision is applauded to protect the decision making process for greater transparency and accountability
