Minister is innocent – APGA Taiye Agbaje, Abuja Following her appearance and defence before the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation on Thursday, the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) has insisted that the Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah, followed due process in the purchase of the N255million armoured cars which has stirred controversy in the aviation sector lately. The minister had told the committee that she neither requested for the controversial two bullet proof BMW cars nor did the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) buy the cars for her. At the probe, Oduah also denied approving a contract that was beyond her limit, and cited a note she attached to the approval letter which directed her officials to “do the needful,” although request for the purchase was approved. In his reaction yesterday, National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Umeh, said in a telephone chat, that regarding what transpired concerning the two cars, Oduah acted openly and transparently, hence “she is innocent.” “She followed due process in the purchase of the cars. She made everything clear and that is why it is not good to be quick to condemn. No money was stolen. She acted innocently, openly and transparently. But it is left for government to determine what happens to her,” Umeh stated.
