Minnesota re-elected its Democratic Governor and Senator. In his first term Governor Dayton raised taxes on the wealthiest Minnesotans to address a budget deficit he inherited from his Republican predecessor, and lo and behold, the Minnesota economy did not auger in - in fact, quite to the contrary. The deficit is now a surplus, unemployment is way, way down (one of the lowest rates in the country), and manufacturing has bounced back big-time. Senator Franken kept his head down and worked hard on rational legislation, did not play partisan politics, and is poised to actually be able to work within the new political power structure in the Senate. Okay, GOP, the floor is yours nationally. Lets see you put your (substantial PAC and black) money where your mouth is, and try to do for America what weve been doing in Minnesota.
