Minor rant: Just as our lives as followers of Christ are not - TopicsExpress

Minor rant: Just as our lives as followers of Christ are not defined by circumstance, sin, or whatever else the world throws at us; we are also not defined by spiritual gifts. We are simply In Christ as is written numerable times through-out Scripture. To put emphasis on ones talent (rather lent talent from the Divine Creator) is to put gift above giver and we should then again check what it is that we follow. I love the church. I love people. I love gifts. But we all seem to get divided on who is what...but if we were all just in Christ and nothing more, nothing less...wouldnt our collective family be capable of so much more? Why are there different teachings? This burns me up because I have such a burning passion for family and the church...yet were all separated by such silly differences. One book. One truth. Its time that American Christians started really searching out for themselves what it is they believe. I cant be the only one exhausting myself in prayer, reflection, and Scripture because I dont want to take my loving Saviors grace for granted. I really pray and hope that there are more and more who start to realize what God is doing, and what He has desired to do for ages: unity in Christ. So simple(though it can be beautifully complex while adhering to truth). How can unity exist with different doctrine and different wills...if it is Gods will it is one. It is singular. I love everyone and will walk with anyone as far as they care to travel with me, but I cant beg enough that everyone would check there theology at the door and wrestle with God based on truth and not experience or feelings. We are in the age of sensuality and wonders...and Id take His blessed truth over the best feeling in the world. Trust me...I say this after a long day of painful wrestling with too many things to count! But at the end...it was His word re-assuring and not something from man, not a feeling, not a better circumstance, not a person...just Him entirely. I beg all of you: pray for refining truth and unity. This country is on its last stilts in a sad charade of aesthetics. I know I used a lot of quotes...but theyre really catchy. Much love, your brother Tyler.
