Minutes after finishing the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013, Rhode Island State Trooper Roupen Bastajian heard explosions. Without giving a second thought about running into danger during a time when common sense and instinct would make most people run the other way, Trooper Bastajian ran into the chaos. He provided immediate first aid and triaged victims, applying tourniquets to many of the injured. Six month after the bombings, Trooper Bastajian returned to the site where his heroic efforts helped save lives.
