Miracle Kittens! are here! Hooray! (Sigh, lol) and they need homes! There are 6 total, 5 orange and one calico. Please share this and pass along or tag in a comment anyone you know who is looking for a kitten or new little buddy. Heres their story and how these babies were meant to be... It was an early morning in June and I was getting the kids ready for school and my husband Brad was to leave early with Peaches (the mommy cat) for her vet appointment to get spayed, which I was very pleased about the timing of the appointment because we had waited over a week while the vet was out of town and just that day it appeared that Peaches was beginning to act like she was going into heat. I put Peaches in the cat carrier and Brad left for the vet on the east side of (downtown) Elgin. Right after I got the kids on the bus my phone rings and its Brad informing me that as he pulled the cat carrier from the truck the carrier door somehow dislodged and popped open and my cat flew out like a bat out of (well you know) and ran. Brad looked all around but couldnt find her anywhere and was forced to leave due to scheduling customer calls. I was devastated! I had sent my cat to get fixed and instead sent her to some certain doom! I had to go find her! I grabbed a bag of soft cat food treats, my 18 year old daughter and ran up to the grade school to pick up our youngest because she was in kindergarten and the bus brought her home at 11am so I had to go take her out of school because I didnt know if I could be there in time for the bus. With big soggy tears I checked her out and explained to the school office what was going on and we then set out to find her. By the time we got there hours had passed, and I was very worried but held onto faith believing anything is possible. I parked where Brad said she ran out but he didnt even see what direction she had gone, so we followed our hearts and chose to walk down this alley between closely packed houses and businesses. The three of us walked slowly, shaking the treat bag and calling out her name and the high-pitched Here kitty, kitty, kitty I use when feeding them or giving out treats. Apparently someone else uses the same call for their cat because out of the corner of our eyes we saw some movement on a porch and this pretty long-haired grey cat stretched and then slowly sauntered down the steps toward us. We stopped to acknowledge him and I was just about to reach out and pet him when we heard a faint and pitiful mewwww. It was coming from behind us and we hurried back over the ground we had just covered to see where the cry was coming from. Deep in an overgrowth of weeds and bushes there was a wooden box from what appeared to be a long-forgotten decorative wishing well with two little ears poking out. As we approached it Peaches just stuck her head out enough to see and we scooped her up and held tight, running to our vehicle and bringing her home. We were so happy and relieved! And so was she, she cried and cried when we got home and our other cats surrounded her and cried too. It was so bizarre but was an amazing opportunity to see the way they communicate. So, I wish I could say thats the end of the story and I rescheduled her missed appointment and we all lived happily ever kitten-less after but the very next morning I was looking out the kitchen window and there in the backyard I saw Peaches, who had secretly escaped out the door somehow who knows when that morning and to my shock and horror she was in the act of making kittens. I ran out and collected her, yelling and waving my fist in the air at the neighborhood stray but the deed had been done. I just couldnt believe this, she was suppose to have been fixed from being able to do this the morning before!! And so, many weeks later 6 little babies came into this world and here they are. I have no doubt after all that, that they truly must be meant to be and are suppose to come into the lives of some really great people.
