¤> Mirwaiz Umar Farooq appeals for unity => When the entire Kashmiri Nation from Kargil to Jammu are together protesting against the desecration of holy Quran and the bloodbath of innocent civilians in (Gool) Ramban, the APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that some miscreants with vested interests in Bemina area of Srinagar were trying to create fissures among the Kashmiris on sectarian lines. Terming such efforts of miscreants as unacceptable, Mirwaiz Umar appealed the Kashmiri people to be united at this crucial juncture and remain extremely cautious and vigilant of these instigators. APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq continues to be under house arrest at his Nigeen residence. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has sternly condemned the imposition of curfew in entire Kashmir during the holy month of Ramzaan. He said people were denied from offering prayers in Masjids, Khanqahs, adding, there was also shortage of food essentials which has become the extreme cause of suffering for common masses. APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said the use of force on peaceful demonstrators in Ganderbal, Qazigund, Islamabad and other places which left 70 people injured is the worst form of political retribution. He said it was highly unfortunate that people were not allowed to mourn and express solidarity with their fellow brethren who have lost their dear ones in BSF firing at Gool, Ramban. In view of the continuous killing of Kashmiris, Mirwaiz Umar has appealed international community and human rights organization to intervene and put pressure on India to stop blood bath in Kashmir. According to APHC spokesman, apart from Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi Al Safvi, Abbas Ansari, Moulana Masroor Ansari, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza,Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam and other leaders continues to be under house arrest.
