Misrepresentation of Hong Kong Journalism shouldn’t be about - TopicsExpress

Misrepresentation of Hong Kong Journalism shouldn’t be about quoting different people out of context for a patchwork representation of a meandering narrative, it should be about representation of reality as much as possible. One cannot expect truthful depiction of the reality if the foreign correspondents rely on second-hand account of the events by local journalists. Get a brain, foreign correspondents, would you? It’s a complete waste of manpower and resources to send your own correspondents to Hong Kong if journalism is practiced as a neverending paraphrase exercise. Hong Kong media are as independent and critical as New China (Xinhua) News Agency and that doesnt exclude In Media. While criticizing the declining press freedom in Hong Kong, this news clip rely heavily on local journalists to digest and analyze the events in Hong Kong for them. What an irony! This news agency discredits its own independence by relying on self-censored news sources. Bollocks. “Professional” journalists hired by In Media? Give me a break, none of them have any background working in journalism, neither education in the trade. Ares Ng, In Media “journalist”, portrayed the protest outside the parliament as anti-development, that is exactly the narrative favoured by the Communist Party as a façade for the removal of Hong Kong borders to allow free movement of Chinese settlers in Hong Kong’s border zone. Bugger, does it take great reasoning to figure this out? Obviously, journalism is a profession for unthinking apes. The only thing that rings true in the clip is that there ARE many layers to Hong Kong identity, so get a brain before you journalists start to tell the story. medias.france24/en/ptw/2014/07/18/WB_EN_WB_F24_REPORTERS_PLT_0719_V2_NW910949-A-01-20140718.mp4
