Missed opportunities sometimes I look back not in anger but sadness of opportunities missed the death of Casey Kasem is one of them, nah he wasnt my hero or my idol, but to me just another guy in the history of the Detroit radio. I cut my teeth in radio where he and many other Detroit radio greats worked WJBK , queuing up records on the same monster turntables, twisting the same knobs on that RCA board and popping plosives into the RCA ribbon mic that made your voice sound so ballsy in any event about 10 years ago they have the first Detroit DJ reunion, it wasnt a fan thing, it was for radio and tv people , my pal said Im going why dont you go, well I begged off on it for some reason , couple years ago they had another one, my pal George Young again said Im going why dont you go, I begged off again now Im sorry I did and Im afraid if theres another one none of the DJs I grew up with will be left I would have loved to meet Casey Kasem and shake his hand but now its a missed opportunity now
