Missing Mom tonight. Thinking about a rare time when she was a stay at home mom. We lived in Camp Lake Wisconsin . Only 5 families lived there in the off season. Lots of woods and a swamp I wasnt allowed near. It was a tiny wooden house with rough wooden floors and a cast iron stove to heat it. In the spring and summer the whole back yard was tiger lilies! Mom grew our vegetables! A massive oak stood in front of the house, toward the right- complete with hand made wood swing. Oh how I LOVED that tree! I MISS acorns! The stone walkway to the house was lined with lilies of the valley! We had corn,green beans, peas, and OMG the BEST tomatoes ever! There were woods everywhere. I was only 5 but I was allowed to roam with moms big shepherd Snapsie. I remember mom driving forever to get me to school in the nearest town big enough for a school. OH and railroad tracks close enough to hear the trains! I ache to live somewhere that rural again!
