Mission Afghan Hindu Association of Washington Metropolitan area is being established for and by the residents of Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia to foster, promote and preserve the cultural and religious heritage of the Hindus from Afghanistan. The Association aims to cultivate into our younger and forthcoming generations of our rich cultural traditions of our forefathers, such that, they may preserve this heritage for generations to come. To gather together on a regular basis with families and friends for religious and cultural functions and activities to impart and educate our coming generations of our values, customs and traditions as well as to just meet and greet each other in less formal gatherings. To promote brotherhood amongst us, such that we may help, assist and advise one another in all aspects of human endeavor in our daily lives and livelihood. Care for the elderly of the community by providing social, medical and any other services as so desired. To hold, from time to time, charitable, cultural and educational activities, as well as lectures, discussions and exhibitions especially for the benefit of our younger members of the community and the new inductees into the community, through marriages. Promote and foster close relationships with other organizations of Afghan Hindus and Sikhs, through meetings and participations of cultural and religious ceremonies, from around world.
