Mistake #2 Ceilings....the 12x12 ceiling tiles are made of a very flimsy material...they are co-joined on several sides which if those edges ever break you are STUCK.. Downstairs we painted them and installed with much labor after placing furring strips to create a leveled surface... and then one day the toilet overflowed and these things bend and break. Another day fish aquarium was being cleaned upstairs and cracked was like Niagara Falls coming down on my head downstairs (Made my son stare at the hole in the ceiling for an hour until he admitted this WAS a BIG DEAL. lol You can see where we replaced after much stress and anxiety (the paint does not match). What I really do like is what we put in the bathroom upstairs where the popcorn ceiling was coming down from moisture. It was a little more costly but no problems to put up and is sturdy material. It is a larger metallic version of the 12x12s that we have installed in our kitchen.
